18 films and ten questions - can you match the movie to the criteria?
As it turns out, they're my favourites - but it made for a fairly random selection of genres and eras. Longtime fans of the blog will notice I've finally started counting Apocalpyse Now and Blade Runner among my favourite movie list, instead of just madly gushing.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Hot Fuzz
Zulu L.A. Confidential Guns of Navarone Hero Apocalypse Now Blade Runner
Signs Constantine School of Rock Lost Boys Donnie Darko Brazil
The Godfather Reservoir Dogs Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
EASY
1 There is only one repeat director on the list - who is he, and which are his films?
2 Spot the only foreign film
3 My favourite directors are Terry Gilliam and M. Night Shyamalan, but I also rate Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott. Which one of the five has no film on the list (and which one of theirs would you recommend I add?)
MEDIUM
1 One is based on a play - one is based on a graphic novel
2 Six are based on books
3 Three have sequels (and one is about to have a sequel)
4 My friends think I watch too many violent movies, and I notice that there's only one film on my list in which no one is killed - which one is it?
HARD1 Bearing in mind I loved both films for several years before realising, can you spot the only repeat actress on the list? Who is she, and which two films is she in?
2 I have identified four actors on the list who are in more than one film - who are they?
AND FINALLY...
1 Are all my questions correct? Spot anything I missed?

Well, it's been awhile since I've commented so let's see how this goes.

EASY

That would be Francis Ford Coppola with "Apocalypse Now" and "The Godfather"
2 Spot the only foreign film
"Hero"
3 My favourite directors are Terry Gilliam and M. Night Shyamalan, but I also rate Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott. Which one of the five has no film on the list (and which one of theirs would you recommend I add?)
Gilliam has "Brazil" there and Scott has "Blade Runner" so I'd wager it's Stanley Kubrick

MEDIUM
1 One is based on a play - one is based on a graphic novel
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" was a play while "Constantine" was Hellblazer, the comic
2 Six are based on books
"L.A. Confidential", "The Godfather", "Apocalypse Now", "Blade Runner", "The Guns of Navarone" and "Constantine"?
3 Three have sequels (and one is about to have a sequel
"The Godfather", "Lost Boys" and "Zulu" with "Donnie Darko" to get one (as well as "School of Rock")
4 My friends think I watch too many violent movies, and I notice that there's only one film on my list in which no one is killed - which one is it?
"School of Rock", though personally I think it would have spiced it up.

This one I could not get. Grumblegrumble.
2 I have identified four actors on the list who are in more than one film - who are they?
Harrison Ford - "Apocalypse Now" and "Blade Runner"
Tim Roth - "Reservoir Dogs" and "Rosencrantz..."
Robert Duvall - "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now"
Three of four. Not too bad...
Good quiz :)
nice job!
The book question was a bit harder than it should have been - keeping track of 18 favourites is hard, and I, er, forgot to put Fellowship of the Ring on the list. Ooops. Which would be the sixth book.
The 3 sequels were meant to be Guns of Nav, the Godfather and, cough, Fellowship - but you're right, Zulu does have one. Mybad.
The actress is Katherine Ross - she's the love interest in Butch Cassidy, and the shrink in Donnie Darko. I know, who knew?!
The final actor is Stanley Baker in both Zulu and Guns of Nav.
Haha, I thought the absence of LotR was odd. It also would have meant that Ian Holm shared that movie and Brazil.
I haven't actually seen Butch Cassidy, despite actually owning it, and I just don't know why...
Oooh, nice spot - I hadn't even thought that. My parents noticed Marlon Brando in both Godfather and Apocalypse Now, and I almost bashed my head against the wall - it's such an obvious one to miss!
I'm always a bit nervy about recommending fave films, because there's a degree of emotional irrationality not present for "great films". I can't tie it down to direction, or performance or script the way I can with a film I respect. But darn, I love BC and the SK. One for a light hearted evening.
